Folding@Home is a distributed computing project aimed at discovering how proteins self-assemble ('protein folding'). You can find out more about the project here.
More importantly though, we want your help in pushing Team AusGamers to the top of the rankings! First, download the client, either in screensaver or windows console flavours. (Executable for other operating systems are available from the F@H site.)
Run the installation, being sure to specify "Yourname (AusGamers)" as your username (that is, enter your name, a space, and then AusGamers surrounded by brackets). This will put you in the AusGamers team. Once you've done that, you can sit back and relax.
The console version is better for pushing your stats up faster, as it runs all the time, unlike the screen-saver version. The console version runs in what's called 'idle' priority, meaning it takes all available CPU, but if some other program wants CPU, it wont receive any (so you can start up Counter-Strike and not worry about your CPU being used by the F@H program).
There's also an add-on for the console version, called 'Electron Microscope'. You can download it here.
